What your ISO 9001 certification covers
ISO 9001 sets the requirements for a quality management system: how you understand customer needs, plan your work, control your processes, handle complaints and improve. Certification means an independent body has checked that your system meets those requirements and works in practice, not only on paper.
Your EUROTECH certificate states the legal entity, the sites and the scope of activities covered, for example design and manufacture of steel enclosures, or provision of IT support services. Getting the scope right matters, because buyers read it. We agree the wording with you before the Stage 1 review so it matches what you actually do.
- Stage 1 review of your documented quality system and readiness
- Stage 2 certification audit of processes, records and results
- Certification decision and certificate valid for three years
- Listing on verify.eurotechcertification.com so buyers can check it
- Two surveillance audits and a recertification audit in the cycle
Exclusions are handled the same way. If a requirement of the standard does not apply to you, for example product design when you only build to customer drawings, the reason must be stated and must not affect your ability to deliver conforming products or services. The auditor checks that the exclusion is justified.
Online audit, on-site audit or an integrated audit
Many ISO 9001 audits run online. The auditor reviews documents shared on screen, interviews process owners on video and samples records. This works well for offices, service companies and businesses with simple processes.
An on-site audit is the better choice when the work is physical: a production line, a warehouse, a construction project. The auditor needs to see work in progress, product checks and how nonconforming product is kept apart. Some buyers and public tenders also ask for an on-site audit, so check their requirements before you choose.
If you also need ISO 14001 or ISO 45001, the three standards share the same high-level structure and can be audited together as one integrated system. You prepare one set of shared processes, such as document control, internal audit and management review, and the combined audit usually takes fewer days than three separate ones.
Whichever format you choose, the audit standard is the same: the auditor must see enough evidence to decide that the system works. An online audit is not a lighter audit, it simply moves the interviews and record checks to a screen.
What decides the price of ISO 9001
ISO 9001 certification with EUROTECH starts at $800. The final figure is set by the audit time your organization needs, and audit time depends mainly on four things.
- Number of employees, including part-time and contract staff who work under your control
- Number of sites and whether each one carries out different activities
- Complexity of the scope, for example design and development, or regulated products
- Audit format: online audits avoid travel costs, on-site audits include them
A ten-person consultancy with one office needs far less audit time than a plant with three shifts and two warehouses. We put the audit days, travel and every fee in a written quote, so there are no extra charges later in the cycle.
Two things lower the cost without lowering the value of the certificate: a clear, well-defined scope, and records that are ready before the auditor asks for them. Time spent hunting for evidence during the audit is time you pay for.
How ISO 9001 certification works with us

Step 1
Quote and scope
Send headcount, sites and activities. We confirm the ISO 9001 scope wording and the audit days in a written quote.

Step 2
Stage 1 document review
We review your quality manual or process maps, objectives, internal audit and management review, and list any gaps.

Step 3
Stage 2 certification audit
The auditor traces real orders through your processes, online or on site, and reports findings the same day.

Step 4
Certificate and surveillance
After the decision you receive the ISO 9001 certificate, listed on our portal, with yearly surveillance audits.
Where we audit ISO 9001
We certify companies in the USA, Europe, Asia and Africa. For exporters, the certificate is often the entry ticket to a supplier approval process, and the buyer may name the standard version or ask for an English certificate. Our certificates are issued in English.
For on-site audits we plan the visit around your shifts and production schedule. For multi-site companies we agree which sites are visited in each audit, so every site is covered over the three-year cycle. Clients in Turkey can also work with our Turkey agency office, MEGACERT, in Istanbul.
Many of our ISO 9001 clients are manufacturers and service providers that supply larger companies abroad. A certificate that can be verified online in seconds removes one question from every supplier questionnaire they fill in.
What to expect from the ISO 9001 audit
Before Stage 1 you should have your quality policy and objectives, the documented information the standard asks for, at least one internal audit and one management review. Stage 1 confirms you are ready and lists any gaps to close.
At Stage 2 the auditor follows real orders and projects through your processes: from the customer request, through planning and delivery, to invoicing and feedback. Findings are graded. A major nonconformity must be corrected and verified before the certificate can be issued; a minor one needs a corrective action plan.
The audit closes with a meeting where the auditor presents the findings and the recommendation. You get the written report afterwards, and corrective action plans for any minor findings are agreed with clear dates.
Certification is decided on the audit evidence. We tell you what we found, clearly and in writing, so you know exactly what to fix.
After the certificate: surveillance audits and ISO 9001:2026
Your certificate stays valid while you keep the system running. A surveillance audit takes place in years one and two, and a recertification audit before the three-year expiry date. Keep internal audits, management reviews and corrective actions going between visits, because the auditor looks for evidence that the system is used.
If something changes between audits, such as a new site, a new product line or a large change in headcount, tell us. The scope or the audit time may need to change, and it is easier to plan that into the next surveillance visit than to discover it during the audit.
ISO 9001:2026 came into effect on 16 September 2026. Current certificates remain valid until the transition ends on 30 September 2029, and after 31 March 2028 new certificates can only be issued to the 2026 version. The changes include quality culture and ethical behaviour in the leadership clause, risks and opportunities split into three subclauses, stronger change management and updated management review inputs. We can plan your transition into a regular surveillance or recertification audit.
Questions buyers ask
How much does ISO 9001 certification cost?
With EUROTECH it starts at $800. The final price depends on employees, sites, scope and whether the audit is online or on site. You get every fee in a written quote.
How long does it take to get ISO 9001 certified?
It depends mostly on how ready your system is. Once your system is running, with an internal audit and a management review done, Stage 1 and Stage 2 can usually be scheduled within weeks.
Can a small business get ISO 9001?
Yes. ISO 9001 applies to any organization, whatever its size. A small company needs less audit time, which keeps the price close to the starting price.
Should we certify to ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 9001:2026?
New certificates can be issued to ISO 9001:2015 until 31 March 2028. After that only the 2026 version is possible. If you are starting now, preparing for the 2026 version avoids a second change later.
What documents do we need before the audit?
At minimum: the scope of your quality system, your quality policy and objectives, the documented information your processes need, records of an internal audit and a management review, and evidence of how you handle nonconformities and corrective actions.
How do customers check our certificate?
Every EUROTECH certificate is listed on verify.eurotechcertification.com, searchable by certificate number or company name.
